Grayshott IV v Liphook and Ripsley III - Saturday 11 May 2019

Skipper Al Lewis was back on toss winning form and put Grayshott into bat. Our two Big Dicks - Jarrett and Grimes opened the bowling and had Grayshott under the cosh from the off. Only 11 runs conceded from the opening 12 over spell, and the wicket of Richard Heath who was brilliantly caught in the slips by old-timer Gordon Scott off Richard Grimes.

Proving that people called Richard could also participate in this game, John Strong and Al picked up the baton and started to rip the heart out of the Grayshott batting line up. Each bowling their maximum 9 overs, John took 2-37 and Al returned his best figures since he reached puberty (5-22). Richard Jarrett took the final wicket to leave the scorebook recording Grayshott all out for 89 runs in the 37th over. The scorecard also seemed to show that Mr Tickle had his debut bowl, delivering 3 overs that only went for 12 runs, but I'm not so sure.....

Liphook opener Tim Lewis (55 not out) reached his 50 with a big six, and he was ably supported by John Strong (34 not out) as they knocked off the runs in only 13 overs. 3 games played so far this season and Liphook have rarely looked in any trouble. Carry on like this, and there may even be call ups for the Firsts in the offing.
