Major Club Fundraising needed to secure a new rabbit fence around the ground.

As we all enjoy returning to Ripsley for cricket, be that on Saturday afternoons, Sunday mornings, Monday evenings or any of the other times during the week that the ground , and the bar, is now back in use, many of you may have noticed that the state of the outfield is not as good as it has been in the past or how we would like it to be.

We have plans in place to address this and most of the remedial work will take place in the autumn.

However, we are working with one hand tied behind our backs at the moment as we face a serious problem with the number of rabbits that are damaging the outfield - particularly following last year when there was no activity until July.

The current fencing around the perimeter is not fit for purpose and there are many routes for rabbits to enter the ground, and they do..

We therefore need to take immediate action to replace the 'rabbit fence' that runs around the perimeter of the ground.

We have obtained 4 separate quotes to try to ensure that a good quality job done at the best price, but it will come as no surprise this is not a cheap undertaking. Therefore we are appealing to members, parents, friends and supporters of the Club to please, if you can, make any kind of donation towards the cost of having this work done.

Any donation will be hugely appreciated and will enable us to manage the costs of the ongoing upkeep of the Club whilst we take this immediate action to replace the rabbit fencing and enable us to improve the state of the outfield in the long term. And remember that if you are willing to Gift Aid your donation, the Government will increase its value by 25% at no extra cost to you.

Many thanks, your ongoing support for the Club is greatly appreciated..
